Style Icon: Stevie Nicks

Some of Stevie's shawls hanging backstage at a concert.

I don't think it's exactly a secret that I LOVE Stevie Nicks.  She is such an inspiration and I'd give my left boob to meet her.  Not only are her songs timeless, but so is her style.  I think she'll forever be my style muse... fringe, kimonos, lace, her top hat, tambourine, and those long, flowing black dresses-- what's not to love?
Here's some of my favorite pictures of her.  They are all via my tumblr

Lost in Time

I've been refraining from posting my outfits because it is still absolutely freezing outside and I can't seem to get the motivation to get outside to take some decent pictures.  However I've got some other things up my sleeve to post on here until it gets nice out ;)  The first of which being some killer lookbooks I've seen lately.  I stumbled upon this lookbook for Liberated Heart while perusing tumblr and I love this vibe.  I can't wait for it to start getting warm so I can go on adventures in the woods!  I've loved Mimi Elashiry since I saw her in the Lenni Vintage campaign and she continues to kill it in every lookbook I've seen her in.  Ummm and her hair!  I think I'm gonna have to give that a try sometime.

I was born in a desert, raised in a lion's den...

Hey friends!  Sorry I've been slacking on posting, but it's really cold outside and I'm finding myself to be increasingly unmotivated to get out there and take pictures... but fear not, here's a casual outfit post for you all.  The boots and belt I'm wearing are from the Vintage Clothing Show in Manhattan (different vendors, same venue).  They have the show a couple of times a year, and if you're a fellow vintage enthusiast/clothes whore like myself, you should check it out!  Lots of great, unique finds there.
Outfit Details:
T-shirt: Free People via the Lord & Taylor sale rack
Jeans: Target (They're really good quality for a great price.  I've been scoring a lot of nice pants there recently)
Steer Skull bolo tie: Vintage via Rick Walker's in Boston.  If you're in the area, check it out.  It's western vintage/cowboy boot heaven in there
Belt: Vintage
Boots: Vintage

Boa Constrictor

How about that pun in the title, see what I did there??  Lol sorry couldn't resist, I'm lame I know.  But anyway so I wore a boa today and felt like Janis Joplin and it was great.  I like to think of it as an extra fluffy scarf and style it as so.

Desert Rose

Hey friends!  Im happy to finally be in on the blogspot fun.  Sorry my photo skillz aren't too great, but I'm new to this so give me a break, I'll work on it...  Anyways, I find that people are unnecessarily afraid of long dresses for fear that they don't know how to wear or style them.  But really, you can wear them with so many things that I really don't see why!  Throw a shirt or tank over one, wear tons of jewelry or some kind of statement necklace/piece with one, wear a kimono or a cardigan... so many possibilities.  With mine, I'm wearing a kimono, black boots, a headband, a layered necklace, and a headband.  The dress is so simple that I can easily wear a lot of statement accesories or throw a printed kimono or coat over it.
